Martial Arts is the term used for all forms of combat sports. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is one of the most effective styles for self defense.
What is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu?
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art focused on ground fighting and submission holds. It emphasizes technique and leverage, allowing individuals of all sizes to defend themselves effectively.
Do I need prior experience to join?
No prior experience is necessary! Our classes cater to all skill levels, from complete beginners to advanced practitioners. We provide a supportive environment for everyone.
What should I wear to class?
We recommend wearing a gi for our BJJ classes, which is a traditional martial arts uniform. However to get started, we suggest comfortable athletic wear for trying classes.
How often should I train?
For optimal progress, we suggest training at least two to three times a week. However, the frequency can vary based on your personal goals and schedule. As Professor Matt often says, "you get out of it as much as you put into it."
